The Glenfield Series 853/IRV regulating sleeve valve is an In-Line pattern design for pipeline service. The valve is designed for a minimum overall length, with flat or raised flange faces. The Series 853IRV is suited for control valve applications such as severe pressure drops, high inlet pressure, and high flow rates.
The valve controls flow and reduces pressure using the principle of throttling pressure across multiple tapered ports which are positioned around the valve sleeve. The port shape and arrangement can be designed specifically for each application to provide optimum valve performance and flow control characteristics.
The regulation of pressure or flow within a pipeline can vary from moderate to extremely severe conditions. Some of the more challenging conditions include obtaining precise regulation over the full length of the valve stroke, eliminating vibration, and preventing damage from cavitation. The Glenfield Inline Regulating Valve is designed for superior performance under these conditions. The Series 853IRV is built to last. All pressure containing components are ductile iron. All flow controlling parts are stainless steel or bronze.
